Rolls Royce - Pininfarina project
This unique car was first unveiled at
The vehicle is truly one of a kind, because it is the only unit ever built. When it was commissioned the owner wanted Pininfarina to give the Rolls Royce Drophead coupe the look cars in the 30s had. And that means long hoods and short rears.
To achieve that goal the Italian company had to extend the roof and shorten the rear. The rear seats were removed during this process and the front seats had to move 16 inches back. Behind the seats a wood lined cover exists which is also the place where the new fabric top folds. Pininfarina had done all it could in order to evoke the images of the 50s and 60s Berlinettas. Speaking of the body, it is all carbon fiber with wooden doors. Allegedly, the team working on the Hyperion had previously created yachts.
The interior was largely left untouched and seeing that it bears the Rolls Royce name it can only be a good thing. The only addition is the Girard-Perregaux interior clock which can be removed and attached to wrist band.
